'I just wanted to say thank you again. I absolutely love this shirt. Meanwhile shirt and I are in Cape Town and you have no idea how many compliments I'm getting. Best buy ever!'
A contemporary reimagining of classic denim styles, our Lela shirt plays on contrasts, coming in sleek indigo, with details picked out in richly textured pale-blue warp denim. Woven from premium Japanese cotton, it’s cut for an oversized fit, with a boxy silhouette, dropped shoulders, and mini side splits. Special flourishes complete this timeless wardrobe foundation: tonal topstitching, natural ivory corozo buttons, box pleating and contrast yoke at the back, and curved hem, which means the shirt hangs beautifully when worn untucked. Look out also for our Lela shirt in sunny pastel orange and yellow cotton.

Wash less, love always
We recommend hanging your shirt to air outdoors, rather than washing after every wear. This way, it will last longer and also have a lower environmental impact. Spot clean marks with warm soapy water, and when it does need a wash, follow our care advice:
- Machine wash 30 degrees
- Wash with similar colours
- Medium iron
- Do not bleach
- Do not tumble dry
A note on our Japanese cotton and corozo buttons
Our Lela shirt is made from Japanese indigo cotton, which is known for its unique quality; no two fabrics are the same, because of the way it has been woven. Our cotton is also certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, which means it’s completely free from chemicals harmful to your skin. We’ve used corozo – known as vegetable ivory – for our buttons, as it comes from a nut found in South America which can only be harvested once it naturally falls to the ground, making it a more sustainable choice.
Our shirt was made in Romania by Mantra, one of the few manufacturers we choose to work with abroad because of its commitment to improving its carbon neutrality and zero-waste approach.
