Sustainability is at the heart of Saywood: our Amelia culotte trousers run with the theme in their use of as-good-as-new deadstock cotton sateen and timeless-with-a-twist design that lasts.
Pared-back and elegant, it’s the considered details that really make this piece. Sitting neatly below the belly button, they flare into an easy A-line shape just above the ankle. Clever darting on the front and back gives shape without restricting the hips, bum and waist, while the roomy crotch has plenty of give when sitting. Discreet side pockets keep things streamlined – and functional, too, thanks to their deep pocket bags.
Finished with a hidden corozo button and zip-fly fastening, back patch pockets, khaki topstitching and our signature embroidered flower motif, they’re a wardrobe mainstay.
Also available in Japanese denim and navy check.

Wash less, love always
We recommend hanging your trousers to air outdoors, rather than washing after every wear. This way, they will last longer and also have a lower environmental impact. Spot clean marks with warm soapy water, and when it does need a wash, follow our care advice:
- Machine wash 30 degrees
- Wash with similar colours
- Medium iron
- Do not bleach
- Do not tumble dry
A note on our deadstock cotton and corozo buttons
Our Amelia culotte trousers are cut from deadstock cotton sourced from Riopele, a fabric mill in Portugal, which is certified STeP by OEKO-TEX® for sustainable production. They’re made in Romania by Mantra, who we love for their drive for carbon neutrality and repurposing of textile waste.
We’ve used corozo – known as vegetable ivory – for the jigger button, as it comes from a nut found in South America which can only be harvested once it naturally falls to the ground, making it a more sustainable choice. It’s also biodegradable. The fabric on the zipper is made from recycled polyester, and the metal zip teeth are nickel free.
